CESC Limited inducts Umang Kanoria as an Independent Director and confirms the reappointment of Debanjan Mandal as Non-Executive Independent Director.
CESC Limited has announced the appointment of Umang Kanoria as a Non-Executive Independent Director (Additional Director) effective February 25, 2026. The company has also approved the reappointment of Debanjan Mandal as a Non-Executive Independent Director, effective May 10, 2026.
Umang Kanoria currently serves as Chairman and Managing Director of Kanco Tea & Industries Ltd. and Kanco Enterprises Ltd. He previously held leadership positions as President of the Indian Chamber of Commerce and the Tea Association of India, and also served as Chapter Chairman of YPO India. With extensive experience across the tea and textile industries, Kanoria has played an active role in various industry bodies. He holds a B.Com (Hons.) from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata and an MBA from IMD Lausanne. He is also an Associate Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
Debanjan Mandal is a Partner at Fox & Mandal, a law firm established in 1896, and has more than 20 years of post-qualification experience. His expertise covers corporate and commercial laws, real estate, infrastructure, dispute resolution, and mergers and acquisitions. Mandal is affiliated with several professional bodies, including the Incorporated Law Society of the High Court at Calcutta, the Supreme Court Bar Association, and the International Bar Association. He also serves as Chairman of the ICC National Expert Committee on Corporate and Legal Affairs.
