GIC Housing Finance Limited has announced the appointment of Dinesh Waghela as Non-Executive Independent Director (Additional Director), effective September 23, 2025, subject to shareholder approval.
Waghela brings with him over 35 years of expertise in insurance, reinsurance, and financial management. He has previously served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at The New India Assurance Company and The Oriental Insurance Company, in addition to holding senior leadership roles including General Manager and joint charge of CMD at The Oriental Insurance Company Ltd.
Beginning his career with GIC Re in 1985, Waghela has gained extensive experience across management, compliance, finance, reinsurance, investments, and human resources. His career reflects strong leadership in governance, corporate finance, and strategy within India’s public sector insurance industry.
An alumnus with degrees in commerce and law, Waghela is also an Associate Member of the Insurance Institute of India, further strengthening the board’s depth in financial and insurance expertise.
