Tata Communications announces retirement of Amur S. Lakshminarayanan as CEO and Managing Director effective April 13 2026
Amur S. Lakshminarayanan has retired from his role as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Tata Communications following the completion of his tenure with effect from April 13 2026. His departure marks the conclusion of a leadership phase that contributed to the company’s growth in the global digital infrastructure and telecommunications space.
Prior to joining Tata Communications in October 2019 Lakshminarayanan spent close to two decades at Tata Consultancy Services where he held several senior leadership roles. He served as President and CEO of TCS Japan from 2014 to 2019 driving business operations and expanding market presence in the region.
During his tenure at Tata Consultancy Services he also led the Telecom Media HiTech and Utilities business group as President and earlier headed operations across Europe as well as the UK and Ireland focusing on client engagement and regional growth. With over 35 years of professional experience he has built a strong track record across global leadership roles in technology and telecommunications.
Lakshminarayanan holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani and has completed a senior executive programme at London Business School. His career reflects extensive experience in managing large scale business units and leading regional markets across geographies.
