Bajaj Finance Limited approves Pramit Jhaveri’s reappointment for five years effective August 1 2026 as Rajiv Bajaj steps down from the board
Pramit Jhaveri has been reappointed as a Non Executive Independent Director of Bajaj Finance Limited for a second term of five years beginning August 1 2026 subject to shareholder approval. At the same time Rajiv Bajaj has retired from his role as Non Executive Director of the company marking a change in board composition.
Jhaveri currently serves as an advisor to startups corporates and family offices at Bajaj Finserv and brings extensive experience in banking and financial services. He spent more than three decades with Citibank where he served as Chief Executive Officer for India from 2010 to 2019 and later as Vice Chairman for Banking in Asia Pacific.
He is associated with Premji Invest and PJT Partners in advisory roles and contributes to several philanthropic organisations. His trustee roles include associations with Tata Trusts Pratham Education Foundation India Foundation for the Arts and World Monuments Fund India. He also serves as a board member at companies such as Larsen and Toubro Ltd..
Jhaveri holds a commerce degree from Sydenham College and an MBA from Simon Business School.
Rajiv Bajaj who serves as Managing Director of Bajaj Auto Ltd. has had a long association with the Bajaj Group. He joined Bajaj Auto Ltd. in 1990 and has worked across manufacturing supply chain research and development and sales functions. He became a board member in 2002 and has served as Managing Director since 2005.
In addition to his leadership at Bajaj Auto he has been associated with Bajaj Holdings and Investment Ltd. and other group entities along with involvement in non profit initiatives. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from University of Pune and a master’s degree in manufacturing systems engineering from University of Warwick.
