Cohance Lifesciences names Umang Vohra as Executive Chairman from May 1 2026 and Group CEO from May 20 2026 while Vivek Sharma transitions to advisory role
Umang Vohra has been appointed as Executive Chairman of Cohance Lifesciences effective May 1 2026 and will take on the role of Group Chief Executive Officer from May 20 2026. He succeeds Vivek Sharma who will step down due to personal reasons and will continue to support the company as an advisor for a period of nine months.
Vohra joins Cohance Lifesciences after serving as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Cipla where he led the company’s operations over the past decade. His tenure was marked by a focus on strengthening global healthcare business operations and expanding market presence.
Earlier in his career he served as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories. He also held roles in finance at PepsiCo India and Eicher Ltd. building a strong foundation in financial management and corporate strategy.
With over three decades of experience Vohra brings deep expertise in managing global healthcare and pharmaceutical businesses. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a master’s degree in business administration with a focus on management.
