Raghavendra Srinivas Bhat has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director (CEO & MD) of Karnataka Bank Limited, effective from November 16, 2025, for a one-year term following approval by the Reserve Bank of India. Bhat’s career at Karnataka Bank spans 38 years, starting as a clerk in 1981 and rising through various leadership roles, most recently as Chief Operating Officer until 2019. Coming from an agricultural background, he has gained vast experience in banking operations, human resources, IT & digital banking, treasury & forex operations, insurance distribution, and the rural economy. His extensive management experience and strategic decision-making contributions make him well-prepared to lead the bank into its next chapter.
This appointment follows the resignation of the previous MD & CEO, Srikrishan Sarma, with Bhat having served as Additional Director and COO to ensure operational continuity. His deep institutional knowledge and expertise across diverse banking functions position him as a strong leader to drive Karnataka Bank’s future growth and strategy.
