Culver Max Entertainment, the parent company of Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI), has announced the appointment of Gaurav Banerjee as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director (CEO & MD).
During the company’s AGM, shareholders also approved the appointments of Ritesh Khosla (General Counsel) and Sibaji Biswas (Chief Financial Officer) as Whole-Time Directors.
Banerjee, who is currently the Chairman of Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India, brings over 20 years of expertise in the media and entertainment industry. He previously spearheaded content development at Disney+ Hotstar, overseeing original series and films for both Hindi and regional audiences. At Star India, he played a key role in managing major channels including Star Plus, Star Gold, Star Jalsha, and Star Pravah, driving audience engagement and market growth.
Starting his career in news media, Banerjee holds a master’s degree in filmmaking and TV production from Jamia Millia Islamia University and a history degree from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. His leadership is expected to reinforce Culver Max Entertainment’s vision and strengthen its position in India’s competitive entertainment sector.
