Maruti Suzuki India Limited announced that CRISIL ESG Ratings & Analytics, a SEBI-registered ESG rating agency, has upgraded its ESG rating from 61 in FY 2023-24 to 63 in FY 2024-25, placing the company firmly in the “Strong” category. The core ESG rating has remained steady at 57.

The rating reflects the robustness of a company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices, with higher scores indicating stronger sustainability performance.

According to CRISIL, the improvement is driven by better environmental disclosures, stronger social initiatives, enhanced governance structures, and greater emphasis on sustainable product development. On CRISIL’s ESG scale, which ranges from Weak to Leadership, Maruti Suzuki continues to rank in the Strong band.

The automaker stated that the recognition aligns with its long-term sustainability roadmap, reinforcing its commitment to risk management, stakeholder value creation, and access to sustainable financing opportunities, while also boosting investor confidence.
