Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Limited has announced the appointment of Sundaram Damodarannair as the Chairman of its Board of Directors, effective September 18, 2025. This follows the completion of his second term as Non-Executive Independent Director and Chairman on September 17, 2025.
Damodarannair will continue as an Additional Non-Executive Non-Independent Director until April 15, 2028, subject to shareholder approval.
A seasoned corporate leader, Damodarannair is currently the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of TVS Capital Funds Ltd., bringing over four decades of experience in corporate finance, governance, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and strategic leadership. He began his career with Hindustan Unilever Limited in 1975, where he held senior positions in India and London, including CFO and Vice Chairman, before retiring in 2009 after a 34-year tenure.
At TVS Capital Funds, he co-leads with Gopal Srinivasan, managing assets worth Rs 1,200 crore (USD 175 million), focusing on growth capital in consumer-driven businesses. Twice awarded “CFO of the Year” by CNBC-TV18, Sundaram is a Fellow of the Institute of Cost Accountants, an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program (AMP), and serves on the boards of several leading corporations.
His appointment is expected to further strengthen Crompton Greaves’ governance and long-term growth strategy in the consumer electricals industry.
