Wipro names Laura Marie Miller as Director subject to shareholder approval and extends Deepak M. Satwalekar’s tenure as Independent Director for a second term.
Wipro has appointed Laura Marie Miller to its Board of Directors, effective April 1, 2026, subject to shareholder approval. The company has also approved the reappointment of Deepak M. Satwalekar as an Independent Director for a second term.
Miller was previously part of the executive leadership team at Macy’s, where she worked on initiatives related to digital transformation, data, and artificial intelligence. Earlier in her career, she held technology and operations roles at InterContinental Hotels Group and First Data. She has also served on the boards of several listed companies, including EVO Payments, which was later acquired by Global Payments, and LGI Homes. Currently, she serves as a Non-Executive Director at NCR Voyix and Ahold Delhaize, bringing experience in technology operations, strategy, and digital transformation across industries.
Satwalekar joined Wipro’s Board in July 2020 and currently serves as the Lead Independent Director. He chairs key committees including the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee and the Administrative and Shareholders/Investors Grievance Committee, and is also a member of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. Earlier in his career, he served as Managing Director of HDFC Ltd. and as CEO of HDFC Standard Life Insurance Co. Ltd..
He has also worked with international organizations such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, USAID, and UN-Habitat. Satwalekar chaired the corporate governance committee set up by the Reserve Bank of India and has contributed to panels of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India and the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority. He is currently Chairman of Home First Finance Company and holds academic degrees from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and American University Washington D.C..
