Tesla Inc. has appointed Sharad Agarwal, former Head of Lamborghini India, as its new Country Head, according to Bloomberg.
Sharad Agarwal has been appointed as Country Head of Tesla India, marking a significant step in the electric vehicle maker’s expansion plans for the Indian market. He succeeds Prashanth Menon, who resigned from the role in May 2025.
Agarwal brings over two decades of experience in the automotive industry. During his nearly 10-year tenure at Lamborghini India, he expanded the brand’s presence to over 60 cities, solidifying its position in the Indian luxury car segment. He also played a key role in establishing Lamborghini’s operations in Cambodia and previously led Audi India’s sales operations, driving it to market leadership.
Earlier in his career, Agarwal contributed to the launch of Mahindra First Choice and spearheaded regional growth initiatives at TVS India through innovative, customer-centric strategies. He most recently served as Chief Business Officer (CBO) at Classic Legends, a Mahindra & Mahindra Group company. Agarwal holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Delhi University (DU).
