Veteran industrialist Shreekant Somany steps down from the Board of JK Tyre & Industries after completing his tenure.
JK Tyre & Industries Limited has announced that Shreekant Somany has retired from his position as Non-Executive Independent Director, effective March 16, 2026, upon completion of his tenure.
Shreekant Somany is an industrialist with more than five decades of experience in manufacturing and business leadership. He currently serves as Chairman and Managing Director of Somany Ceramics Ltd..
Early in his career, Somany trained at Similor SA in Geneva, where he gained expertise in faucet manufacturing. During his leadership at Somany Ceramics, he introduced abrasion-resistant tile technology known as VC Shield and led the company in securing a patent under the Indian Patent Act.
Somany has been honoured with the Corporate Technical Achievement Award from the American Ceramic Society. He has also been associated with industry bodies such as the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Indian Ceramic Society.
He joined the Board of JK Tyre & Industries in March 2016 and contributed to areas including corporate governance, risk oversight, and business strategy during his tenure.
