Veteran LIC officer of more than three decades takes charge of the corporation after leadership shift.
Sat Pal Bhanoo has been appointed acting Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) with effect from June 8, 2025. He has been appointed after the retirement of Siddhartha Mohanty, who retired as Chairman and Non-Executive Nominee Director on the Board of LIC Housing Finance Limited on June 7, 2025.
Bhanoo was recruited in October 1988 through direct recruitment from a special batch of LIC. He has served in different key posts over decades, such as Zonal Manager (Central Zone), Additional Director, Zonal Training Centre, Bhopal, and Regional Manager (Personnel & Industrial Relations), North Zone, Delhi. He has also been handling the operations of LIC’s Bangalore-I and Shimla Divisions.
He is a Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, history (honours) graduate. As Chief (Marketing–SBA) in his current position, he was handling marketing operations for Senior Business Associates and LIC Associates, and this resulted in stronger marketing strategies and larger distribution channels.
