Saleem Ahmad Recommended to Lead Rail Vikas Nigam as Chairman and Managing Director

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Saleem Ahmad for appointment as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Railways.

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Saleem Ahmad for the role of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a Ministry of Railways PSU engaged in executing infrastructure projects across India’s railway network.

Ahmad, who currently serves as Director (Projects) at NBCC (India) Limited, brings over 33 years of experience in the construction and infrastructure sector. A civil engineer by profession, he has played a crucial role in managing and delivering large-scale infrastructure projects, including bridges, tunnels, metro systems, and commercial and residential complexes.

Before joining NBCC, Ahmad held senior leadership roles such as Executive Director (Civil) at the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and worked with the Mumbai Port Trust, where he contributed to several high-value engineering projects.

A graduate in Civil Engineering from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi (1990), Ahmad is known for his expertise in project management, urban infrastructure development, and engineering innovation. His appointment is expected to further strengthen RVNL’s leadership in railway infrastructure and modernization initiatives.
