Ravi Ranjan Elevated to Managing Director at State Bank of India

State Bank of India has promoted Ravi Ranjan to the position of Managing Director with effect from December 15 2025.

State Bank of India has announced the elevation of Ravi Ranjan as Managing Director strengthening the bank’s senior leadership team. The appointment reflects his long standing contribution and deep expertise across multiple banking functions.

Prior to this elevation Ravi Ranjan served as Deputy Managing Director handling Global Markets and the Corporate Accounts Group. In his current responsibilities he oversees critical verticals including risk compliance and the stressed assets resolution group. His leadership experience also includes serving as Chief General Manager of the Chennai Circle where he was responsible for operations across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

Earlier in his career he held the role of President and Chief Operating Officer at SBICAPS in Mumbai and led the retail network as General Manager in Bengaluru. He has also completed two international assignments including roles in Hong Kong focused on debt syndications and in Los Angeles California gaining valuable global exposure.

Ravi Ranjan joined State Bank of India as a Probationary Officer in 1991 and brings more than 34 years of experience across diverse areas of banking and finance. His elevation as Managing Director is expected to support State Bank of India’s focus on robust risk management operational excellence and sustainable growth.
