Ramakrishnan Chander, currently Executive Director (Investment of Front Office), Chief Investment Officer and Key Managerial Personnel at Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), has been redesignated as Managing Director of the Corporation with effect from December 1, 2025.
Ramakrishnan Chander began his journey with LIC in 1990 as an Assistant Administrative Officer and has built a distinguished 35-year career across marketing, administration and large-scale operational leadership. A graduate and Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India, he has held several leadership roles including Senior Divisional Manager, Regional Manager (Marketing), and Regional Manager (P&GS).
He has also led LIC’s Strategic Business Unit for International Operations as Executive Director, managing its global footprint and business expansion initiatives. Prior to his redesignation, Chander was responsible for investment strategy and front-office operations, contributing to the Corporation’s portfolio performance and governance.
His extensive cross-functional experience and strategic acumen position him strongly to lead LIC’s continued growth and transformation.
