Navneet Kumar Sehgal has stepped down as Chairman of Prasar Bharati, with the Information and Broadcasting Ministry accepting his resignation.
Navneet Kumar Sehgal is a retired Indian Administrative Service officer of the 1988 batch (Uttar Pradesh cadre) with more than 35 years of experience in governance, policy reform, and public administration across State and Central Government roles. He has served in key leadership capacities, including Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary for Tourism, MSME, and Energy, and as Secretary to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
During his tenure, Sehgal played a pivotal role in major infrastructure and development initiatives such as the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, the launch of Lucknow’s first Metro Rail service, and reforms in the power sector. He also championed flagship programmes like “One District One Product”, while facilitating funding support from global institutions including the World Bank and JICA. His professional expertise spans media management, public relations, finance, law and order, land administration, and economic development.
