Tata Trusts has approved the reappointment of Natarajan Chandrasekaran (Chandra) as Chairman of Tata Sons, marking the beginning of his third term at the helm of the Tata Group.
Tata Sons has reappointed Natarajan Chandrasekaran as its Chairman for a third consecutive term, following approval from Tata Trusts.
Chandrasekaran joined the Board of Tata Sons in October 2016 and assumed the role of Chairman in January 2017. Prior to this, he spent over three decades at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), including eight years as CEO & MD, where he led the company to become one of the world’s leading IT services firms.
Under his leadership, Tata Sons has advanced its “One Tata” vision, driving the group’s strategic diversification into semiconductors, consumer internet, mobile technology, electronics, battery giga-factories, and aviation—notably through the acquisition of Air India.
Chandrasekaran serves on several global advisory boards, including Singapore’s Economic Development Board (EDB) and the IMF Advisory Panel, and continues to represent India’s corporate leadership on the world stage.
A recipient of numerous honours, he has been awarded the Padma Bhushan, France’s Légion d’Honneur, and an Honorary Knighthood of the British Empire (KBE) in recognition of his contributions to business and international leadership.
