GAIL (India) Limited has appointed Deepak Gupta as its Chairman and Managing Director with effect from March 1 2026.
Deepak Gupta is currently serving as Director Projects at GAIL (India) and will assume charge as Chairman and Managing Director from the notified date. He has led the execution of large scale projects under Engineering Procurement and Construction and Project Management Consultancy models. During his tenure at Engineers India Ltd. he was involved in major assignments including the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemical Complex in Nigeria the HMEL Bhatinda Polymer Project and the Mongolia refinery project. He has also contributed to projects for Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd.
Gupta has authored technical papers and spoken at industry forums on project execution and digitalisation. He is a Mechanical Engineer from Delhi College of Engineering now Delhi Technological University and brings around 35 years of experience in the oil and gas sector. He is a certified Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute USA with expertise spanning project management construction and business development across the hydrocarbon value chain.
