Canara Bank appoints Brajesh Kumar Singh as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director effective June 1 2026
Brajesh Kumar Singh has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Canara Bank with effect from June 1 2026.
Before taking over leadership at Canara Bank Singh served as Executive Director of Indian Bank where he oversaw business segments including retail banking MSME recovery credit monitoring human resource management wealth management and government relations.
Earlier in his career he worked as Chief General Manager Human Resources at Bank of Baroda and also served on the board of Bank of Baroda UP Gramin Bank.
Singh’s banking career includes leadership roles such as Credit Officer Branch Head Loan Factory Head Regional Head and Zonal Head. He also completed an overseas assignment in Durban where he gained international banking experience.
He holds a degree in Agriculture from Allahabad Agriculture Institute and an MBA in Finance. Singh is also a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers and has completed the Executive Leadership Development Programme at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
