Bhaskar Bhattacharya Resigns as Independent Director of Power Finance Corporation

PFC Independent Director Bhaskar Bhattacharya steps down effective April 1, 2026, after being selected as a candidate for the West Bengal Assembly elections.

Power Finance Corporation Limited has announced the resignation of Bhaskar Bhattacharya from his role as Independent Director on its Board, effective April 1, 2026, following his selection as a candidate for the upcoming Assembly elections in West Bengal from the Serampore constituency.

Bhaskar Bhattacharya has over 30 years of experience as an advocate, with expertise in taxation and legal matters. During his three-year tenure at PFC, he served on key committees including the Audit Committee and the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, and chaired the Board-level Risk Management Committee.

He has also held positions such as Chairman of the Hooghly Tax Advocates Bar Association and is a member of the West Bengal Taxation Tribunal. In addition, he has served as General Secretary of the NGO Nibedan.

Bhattacharya holds a commerce degree along with a law degree and a postgraduate diploma in business management.
