Centum Electronics appoints former IAS officer Apurva Chandra and 3M India MD Ramesh Ramadurai as Independent Directors; board approvals granted on March 16, 2026.
Centum Electronics Limited has appointed Apurva Chandra and Ramesh Ramadurai as Independent Directors on its Board. Chandra’s appointment is effective from December 19, 2025, while Ramadurai joined the Board on February 14, 2026. The appointments were approved on March 16, 2026.
Apurva Chandra is a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 1988 Maharashtra cadre, with more than 36 years of experience in public administration and policy. He retired from government service in September 2024. During his career, he served as Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and the Ministry of Labour and Employment. He also served as Director General (Acquisition) in the Ministry of Defence and as Principal Secretary (Industries) in the Government of Maharashtra.
Chandra has previously served on the boards of GAIL (India) Ltd., Petronet LNG Ltd., and Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation. He is currently associated with CEAT and Sudarshan Chemical Industries Ltd.. Chandra is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and the London School of Economics.
Ramesh Ramadurai is the Managing Director of 3M India and brings over 30 years of experience with 3M Company. He has served as Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry Karnataka State Council and has been associated with the US-India Business Council.
Before joining 3M, Ramadurai worked in offshore oil production and in the automotive components and two-wheeler sectors in India. He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and an MBA from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. During his career, he has also worked across international markets including the United States, the Philippines, and China, managing industrial business operations across the Asia-Pacific region.
