Former MCX Chief and experienced banking leader joins the ICICI Bank Board subject to shareholder approval
ICICI Bank has announced the appointment of Mrugank Paranjape as an Independent Director and Additional Director on its Board. His appointment will be effective from August 1 2026 for a term of five years subject to the approval of the bank’s shareholders.
Mrugank Paranjape is currently the Managing Partner at consulting firm MC3. During his distinguished career he has held several senior leadership positions across the banking financial services and capital markets sectors. He previously served as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Multi Commodity Exchange of India and NCDEX e Markets Ltd.
Over the past 36 years Paranjape has built extensive experience in banking capital markets commodity markets asset management exchanges and securities services. His professional journey also includes leadership roles at Deutsche Bank ICICI Prudential Asset Management W I Carr Securities ING Barings and Citibank.
Between 2020 and 2026 he also served as a Non Executive Director of State Bank of India further strengthening his governance and board leadership experience.
Paranjape earned a Bachelor of Technology degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
His appointment is expected to further strengthen the ICICI Bank Board by bringing deep expertise in financial services corporate governance banking technology and capital markets.
