Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys Limited appoints former diplomat Partha Satpathy as Non Executive Independent Director subject to security clearance and shareholder approval

Partha Satpathy has been appointed as a Non Executive Independent Director and Additional Director on the Board of Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys Limited. The appointment will take effect from the date of obtaining security clearance from the office of the Director General of Civil Aviation Government of India and remains subject to shareholder approval.

Satpathy is a former Ambassador and career diplomat of the Indian Foreign Service under the Ministry of External Affairs. Over a diplomatic career spanning more than 35 years he served in multiple international roles including nearly 15 years at ambassadorial level before retiring in 2025.

His diplomatic assignments covered regions across Latin America Africa Europe and the CIS along with engagements at the United Nations and specialised agencies including the World Health Organization International Labour Organization and World Intellectual Property Organization.

Satpathy served as Ambassador of India to Ukraine Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina along with several West African nations. Earlier in his career he held diplomatic postings in Moscow Geneva and Brasília.

His work has focused on governance negotiations crisis management risk mitigation and international cooperation. Since retiring he has been involved in board advisory and non executive roles with multinational organisations with a focus on governance sustainability public health and international relations.
