Bajaj Auto Board approves redesignation of Rakesh Sharma as Joint Managing Director effective June 1 2026 subject to shareholder approval
Rakesh Sharma has been elevated from Executive Director to Joint Managing Director at Bajaj Auto with effect from June 1 2026 subject to shareholder approval. He will continue reporting to Managing Director Rajiv Bajaj.
Sharma joined Bajaj Auto in October 2007 as President of International Business where he played a key role in expanding the company’s global operations. During his tenure he led international business activities for more than a decade focusing on market expansion and business execution across several regions.
In 2018 he was appointed Chief Commercial Officer taking responsibility for front end business operations. He was later elevated to Executive Director in January 2019. Over the years his role expanded across commercial strategy organisational management and business operations strengthening the company’s domestic and international presence.
At Bajaj Auto Sharma has worked extensively across global markets commercial leadership and strategic business functions. He graduated from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad in 1986 and brings more than 40 years of professional experience in the automotive and business sectors.
