Uber has named Balaji Krishnamurthy as its new Chief Financial Officer as Prashanth Mahendra Rajah steps down from the role. Mahendra Rajah will continue to support the company as a senior finance advisor to Chief Executive Officer Dara Khosrowshahi until July 1 2026.
Balaji Krishnamurthy has been with Uber since November 2019 and has held several key finance and investor relations roles during his tenure. He initially joined the company as a senior manager in investor relations and went on to lead the function between 2020 and 2023. In January 2025 he was appointed Vice President of Strategic Finance where he was responsible for financial planning and related strategic finance functions.
Prior to joining Uber Krishnamurthy spent more than eight years at Goldman Sachs. During this period he served as Vice President in the equity research division covering hardware and communications technology companies in the United States. His background combines investment research expertise with hands on corporate finance experience.
Krishnamurthy holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communication from Manipal Institute of Technology. He also earned an MBA in Business Administration and Management from the Management Development Institute Gurgaon and completed an exchange programme at Copenhagen Business School in 2008. His appointment is expected to provide continuity and strengthen Uber’s financial leadership as the company moves into its next phase of growth.
