Dr. Pawan Goenka Reappointed While Rama Bijapurkar To Retire As Independent Director

The Board has approved the reappointment of Dr. Pawan Goenka as a Non Executive Independent Director for a new term beginning May 21 2026 subject to shareholder approval. Rama Bijapurkar will retire from her role as Independent Director on May 20 2026 after completing her tenure.

Dr. Pawan Goenka brings extensive leadership experience across engineering innovation manufacturing and public sector governance. He began his professional journey in automotive research in the United States before returning to India to take on senior leadership responsibilities at a leading automotive group. During his tenure he played a pivotal role in product development and later served as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director until his retirement in April 2021. In February 2022 he was entrusted with a national leadership role in the space sector where he has guided the rollout of key reforms and policy initiatives. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2025 and currently serves as Chairperson of the Board of Governors at IIT Madras. Dr. Goenka holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur a PhD from Cornell University and has completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Rama Bijapurkar is a respected business strategy professional known for her deep understanding of markets and India consumer economy. She leads an independent management consulting practice and works across industries helping organisations embed market insight into strategic decision making. She is also a Professor of Management Practice at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and a co founder of People Research on India Consumer Economy a not for profit research initiative. Over the years she has served as an Independent Director on the boards of several companies and public institutions. Bijapurkar is a widely read author and commentator on business and policy issues with books that explore consumer behaviour and market dynamics in India. Her academic background includes a BSc in Physics from Delhi University and a postgraduate diploma in management from IIM Ahmedabad.
