The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the appointment of Sanjay Kumar Hansda as Executive Director (ED), effective March 3, 2025.
Hansda rejoined the RBI on October 6, 2025, after completing his deputation as Senior Adviser to the Executive Director (India) at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Prior to his elevation, he served as Adviser in the Department of Economic and Policy Research and earlier held positions in the Monetary Policy Department and Internal Debt Management Department.
He also worked as an Analyst for Financial Stability at the Bank of England (BoE) during a secondment from the RBI, contributing to global financial stability initiatives.
