Tata Steel CEO & MD to lead India’s apex management body until September 2026
The All India Management Association (AIMA) has announced that T.V. Narendran, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Tata Steel, has assumed charge as its new President. He succeeds Suneeta Reddy, Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd., who completed her one-year term on September 10, 2025. Narendran will serve in this role until September 2026.
With over 36 years of experience in the mining and metals sector, Narendran has spearheaded both organic and inorganic growth strategies at Tata Steel. He also serves as Chairman of Tata Steel Europe, sits on the Boards of Tata Steel Ltd. and Tata International Ltd., and is the current Chairman of the World Steel Association (2024–25). Additionally, he has held leadership positions with CII, the Indian Institute of Metals, and the World Economic Forum. Narendran also chairs the Boards of XLRI and IIT Kharagpur, and is a member of the IISc Bangalore Council.
An NIT Trichy mechanical engineering graduate with an MBA from IIM Calcutta, Narendran is also a Chevening Scholar, recognized globally for his leadership in the steel and manufacturing sector.
Suneeta Reddy, a prominent leader in Indian healthcare, played a pivotal role in transforming Apollo Hospitals into a global brand. Since joining the group in 1989, she has led its FDI initiatives, brought Apollo to the international equity markets via GDR, and overseen multiple Greenfield and Brownfield projects. Under her leadership, Apollo has been advancing as a digitally enabled healthcare organization.
